Our cottage is part of a terrace known locally as the "Twelve Apostles" situated at the top of Tunnel Brae, Castlerock. The
railway line from Londonderry to Coleraine passes under the cliff on which the cottage is built.
The terrace was erected in 1882 by Sir Henry Harvey Bruce, owner of the Downhill Estate and is now "listed"
because of its distinctive architectural style and charm.
Our cottage enjoys a superb location only a short distance from the beach and Castlerock Championship Golf Course.
Ben Sayers declared that Castlerock Golf Course was equal to those of Troon and Sandwich, specifically some of the holes
were the best he had ever seen.
To the front of the cottage are views of Castlerock beach with Portstewart and Portrush in the distance. At the back is a garden
equipped with barbeque facilities overlooking fields and some of the features of the Downhill estate.
Our cottage has recently been extended and renovated with considerable skill and attention to
historic detail. It is mainly furnished with antique pine and has many interesting features.
Downstairs comprises of a living room with a wood burning stove, wooden floor and bed settee. The
kitchen/dining area is well equipped with modern appliances.
Upstairs is a bathroom and three bedrooms - one double and two single. The cottage sleeps four persons.
